An Enriching Evening of Wine and Wisdom with CREW St. Louis

On November 1, Michelle Hamilton, Vice President of Business Development at Vessel Architecture, opened her home to 23 CREW-St. Louis members for an exclusive wine event. The evening was not just about savoring fine wines but also about deepening connections within the commercial real estate community. Michelle Biedermann, Business Development Manager, Brinkmann Construction, led the event, imparting valuable insights into the intricacies of wine production and its impact on health.

The session began with Michelle Biedermann enlightening the attendees about the significance of understanding the origins and production methods of wines. She highlighted the adverse effects of chemicals and sugars often added to mass-produced wines, which can obscure the grape's true quality and potentially lead to health issues like inflammation and headaches. The discussion also touched upon the use of chemicals like glyphosate in vineyards and their possible long-term health risks.

As the evening progressed, Michelle Biedermann introduced the group to the 5 S's of wine tasting: See, Swirl, Sip, Sniff, and Savor. This guided tasting included six different wines ranging from light whites, bubbly and rosé to rich velvety reds, providing a comprehensive experience for all palates. The event was not only educational but also highly interactive, with numerous opportunities for questions, sharing personal preferences, and enjoying the wines. The night culminated in the natural camaraderie and networking that CREW-St. Louis is renowned for, with members engaging in discussions about industry projects, sharing knowledge, and forming personal connections and mentorship opportunities. It was an evening that beautifully blended the art of wine tasting with the spirit of community and learning.
